Meeting Minutes

Date: 06/28/2007

Location: Conference Room D, Pierce County Annex

Meeting called to order at 4:35 PM by Troy Lee, President

Labor Management Meetings (Six Point Plan)

The first LMC (Labor Management Committee) meeting was held 06/06/2007.  Troy gave an overview of the minutes.  The members were asked to think about what direction they wanted these meetings to go.  There are two options:

1.   Merging of positions (ET3Ős with CE1Ős, ET4Ős with CE2Ős)

2.   Parody issue, addressing the same recruitment and retention problems as the CE series

There was discussion regarding entry-level positions (ET1 vs. ET2).

There was discussion about the CEIT program.

It was noted that other classifications (i.e. R/W) may not have a recruitment/retention problem per say, but there work load has substantially changed.

Councilmember Meeting

Troy and Mark Holden were two of the members that attended the meeting with Council member Calvin Goings held 06/26/2007, and shared their thoughts.  Overall it was a good meeting and communication.

New Business

Troy shared that the budget for 2008 includes 16 new positions.  This will be presented at a County Council meeting, and it would be in the UnionŐs best interest to have representatives present.

Other Items

Rene Jankiewicz (Union Representative) shared that the Chapter is trying to hold Chapter Meetings at least quarterly.  We will work on getting our Minutes submitted, which will lead funding from the Local 17 office for our use (picnics, etc).

Meeting adjourned at 5:45 PM
