Secretary-Treasurer Ð Kerry Obermire

REC Delegate 1 Ð Dustin Auckland

There was discussion about exploring the possibility of mailing ballots out the members, or using the Local 17 web site.

The term length will continue to be one year.  It is possible in the future a formal motion could be proposed to extend the term to two years.

Six Point Plan

Labor Management Committee (LMC) members shared their thoughts and perspectives on the meeting held November 16th.

Round table discussion continued regarding overtime issues, and the history of our contract language.

Members were pleased with Toby RickmanÕs attendance and his explanations/intentions of the original 6-Point Plan document.  He committed to continuing these meetings with the Union.

Healthcare

Rene shared there will be no increase in costs to employees.  Regence and Group Health were originally asking for an increase of greater than 10%; however the Joint Labor Council was able to negotiate down to 0%.

Retirement Health Savings Plan

The Union was never notified that the plan was ÒillegalÓ as written by the County.  It terminates 12/31/07.  The County admitted to Rene earlier today that the process fell apart.  This results in no benefits at all for retirees in 2008.  Rene has requested the tax implications for every member who is affected.

Rene shared that the County is looking at trying to setup a VEBA plan, which are very common.

Sick Leave Incentive Program

Rene shared that there will be a new/improved policy.  It will allow most employees who use less than 1 day of sick leave to receive 2 days of vacation leave.  Employees who use less than 2 days of sick leave would receive 1 day of vacation leave.  This new program doesnÕt convert sick days to vacation days, but actually awards those vacation days.

Other Items

Discussion on the County Council meeting held December 4th, and the Domestic Partner vote.

Meeting adjourned at 6:15 PM
