The Policy Committee is an elected body functioning under the authority of the Constitution and policies of IFPTE Local 17.
The purpose of our Policy Committee is to represent the interests of all the members in our bargaining units.
The elected members of the Policy Committee accomplish this purpose by:
• Encouraging all our members to participate in electing Policy Committee representatives.
• Educating our members on the issues that affect us.
• Selecting a negotiating team from among our membership and serving as a sounding board on the development of new labor agreements.
• Coordinating with staff from Local 17 and King County to resolve work place issues that affect the status of employees and work groups.
• Coordinating with other bargaining units who represent employees who share our interests.
