August 7, 2009 - The King County Coalition of Unions sent a letter to Executive Triplett informing him that we will not begin bargaining any impacts to the 2010 budget until we have received the information which has previously been requested. Absent this crucial financial information, Labor feels we cannot effectively advocate for our members' interests.Future updates will follow once Labor has received additional information from the County. Union Representatives and Stewards Gather for Budget Briefing with County Officials
More than 100 union stewards from across King County, including close to 20 rank-andfile leaders from IFPTE Local 17, received dire news about the state of the County’s budget but no working proposal from County officials in a meeting held on July 28, at the King County Labor Temple in downtown Seattle.
