UPDATE - July 29, 2010

Classification Compensation Retroactive Union Dues

When you received your retro paycheck for back wages, resulting from the Classification Compensation Letter of Agreement, there should have been a deduction for union dues on your back wages.  Unfortunately this deduction was not made.  Therefore, it will be made on a future check.

The way to calculate your retro dues is to multiply your gross back wages (before tax) amount by .0085.  At this time we do not know when the City will collect the retro dues or how it will show up on your check, but we are working with the City Payroll Department to gather this information so that we can inform you of the process.  More information will follow.

Class Specs
The classification specification for the new Parking Enforcement Officer, Lead (0071) class has been finalized and is available online.

- Sewer Transmission Specialist

- Source Control Rep. Senior

UPDATE - July 8, 2010

UPDATE - July 1, 2010

Class Comp Implementation

Class Comp Corrections:
We have resolved most issues related to errors in the final class comp agreement as well as several other new issues. We are  correcting errors through an "amendments letter of agreement" (ALOA).  We will post the ALOA to the website as soon as it is finalized and ready for distribution. Probably in the next week.  When the ALOA is available please review to understand how you are affected. We will also keep you posted as the ALOA moves through council and notify you of the expected date of implementation as soon as we get notice.

Implementation and Retro of Class Comp:
The July 9th pay check will include the new rates, retroactive amounts from Jan 4th, and any lump sums if eligible.  Please review your checks and the agreement carefully to make sure there are no errors.  If there is an error notify payroll right away. If they do not resolve it please contact your Steward.

UPDATE - June 17, 2010

We have found some errors in the class comp document that COT sent us for signature.  Specifically the the three key errors are that the Letter of Agreement document incorrectly states the wage for Parking Enforcement Officer Lead, the wage for Community Service Work Crew Leader +10% is missing, and it is missing the last sentence in Certification Pay iii.

There are a couple of other issues, more clean up,  as well but these need to be corrected before we can sign. I wanted to update you so that you would understand if there was any delay.  We will keep you posted and let you know when these errors have been corrected.

UPDATE - June 11, 2010

The classification compensation agreement has been ratified by council. More information to follow.
